Katie Miller is a professional freelance violist in Raleigh, NC. She is a substitute with the North Carolina Symphony, and performs with the North Carolina Opera Orchestra, Orchestra Pro Cantores at Duke Chapel, and Leechford Entertainment Orchestra. She is a founding member of the Triangle String Quartet, and also plays with Arioso Strings.

Prior to returning to her home state of North Carolina in 2011, Katie lived in California for five years, where she played with the Dolanc String Quartet and was a substitute violist with the Sacramento Philharmonic, Sacramento Opera Orchestra, Modesto Symphony, Napa Valley Philharmonic, and other ensembles. She also ran a private viola studio, teaching students from age 8 to adults.

Katie earned her Master of Music degree (viola performance) from East Carolina University in 2006, and her Bachelor of Music (viola performance) from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2004. She also earned a Master of Library and Information Science degree from San Jose State University in 2011.

Katie lives in Raleigh with her husband and their two children.
