Katie is a freelance musician in the Sacramento area. She performs as a substitute violist in several orchestras, most frequently the Modesto Symphony Orchestra. She has played as a substitute with the Sacramento Philharmonic, Sacramento Choral Society Orchestra, Sacramento Opera Orchestra, Napa Valley Symphony, and Berkeley Symphony. She plays viola in the Dolanc String Quartet.

Katie received a Master of Music degree in viola peformance from East Carolina University (2006), and a Bachelor of Music in viola performance from University of North Carolina Greensboro (2004). She is also currently pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science degree at San José State University.

Katie lives in Winters, CA with her husband Scott and their newborn baby boy, Emmett!
